Business administration is a broad degree program/course that prepares students for a diversity of career opportunities. Whether you are aspiring to become an entrepreneur or have your sights set on a corner office, having a business administration degree equips you with the tools needed for a dynamic, successful career.

Business administration is a well-rounded, all-encompassing, challenging program that opens the doors to many career paths.

Graduates of Business Administration can qualify for a variety of positions and other advanced roles in public, private and nonprofit organizations like- Administrative officer, Retail Manager, Accountant. Business Managers, Program manager/officer, Business analyst, Sales Manager, and a host of other managerial and administrative positions.

O’Level Requirements To Study Business Administration

To study Business Administration, you must acquire at least Five (5) SSCE credit passes including Mathematics, English Language, Economics, plus any two (2) of Business Methods, Accounting, Commerce, Government, Statistics, and Geography.

However, there is a variation to these requirements in some Nigerian tertiary institutions. In the case of some institutions highlighted below:

(i) AAUA accept two (2) other O’level credit passes in any of Accounting, Commerce, Geography and Government.

(ii) ABU accept five (5) O’ level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economic, and any other two (2) subjects.

(iii) COOU and ABUJA requires Commerce In lieu of Economics

(iv) FED-DUTSINMA requires five (5) O’level credit passes to include: Mathematics, English Language, Economics/ Entrepreneurship/ Marketing / Commerce and any two (2) subjects.

(v) UNILAG accepts O’level credit passes in English Language, Economics, Mathematics and any two (2) of Financial Accounting, Geography, Government, CRS/IS, Business Management.

(vi) UNIPORT does not requires commercial subjects.

(vii) UNIZIK requires Mathematics, English and any three (3) relevant subjects.

JAMB Subject Combination For Business Administration

To register for Business Administration in JAMB, you need the following subjects:-

  • English Language (Compulsory subject)
  • Mathematics
  • Economics and one (1) other subject.

      Hi Gideon, the JAMB combination you should use includes:
      English Language (Compulsory subject)

      Mathematics

      Economics and one (1) other subject

      Except if your school has a slightly different combination for admission to a particular department.
