Lagos City Polytechnic?is a private polytechnic located in Ikeja, Lagos State, it may interest you to know this small but mighty private institution was the first private tertiary educational institution in Nigeria, The polytechnic was established in 1990 by Engineer Babatunde Odufuwa and in five years time was officially recognised?by the National Board for Technical Education(NBTE)

Lagos state polytechnic courses cover from pre-National Diploma, National Diploma, Higher National Diploma as well as professional Diploma programmes.

PRELIMINARY DIPLOMA (PRE ND) FULL TIME PROGRAMME

The courses available for pre-ND candidates include the following;

Accountancy

Banking & Finance

Business Studies

Secretarial Studies

Entry Requirements For Pre-ND candidates
For all candidates seeking to enrol at pre-ND level, below shows the basic requirements;
Four ‘O’ Level, WASC/GCE/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB passes in English Language, Mathematics and any two of the following: Economics, Business Methods; Principles of Accounts; Literature in English; Commerce; History; Statistics; Geography; Government; one Science subject.

For candidates going for Secretariat Studies, Mathematics is not compulsory.

The pre-ND program lasts for one academic studies, that is one year.

COURSES FOR NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) AND HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA CANDIDATES

The courses available for ND candidates include the following;

• Accountancy
• Banking & Finance
• Business Studies
• Business Administration and Management
• Computer Engineering
• Computer Science
• Electrical / Electronic Engineering.

Entry Requirements For ND candidates

To be qualified for admission in the institution, the following conditions are required to be met;

• Candidates with five O? level Credit Pass in not more than two (2) sittings
• prospective candidates must have scored a minimum of 150 in the UTME
• ?Candidates with Five O? level Credit Pass in not more than two sittings but scored below 150
• Candidates without UTME but with five O level credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings can be considered for admission
• Candidates with deficiency in one or more subjects in O? Level Result and those awaiting Result may also apply.

Entry Requirements For HND candidates

To be qualified for admission into any HND program in the institution, the following conditions are required to be met;

Candidates who possess ND (National Diploma) from a recognised institution in relevant courses with a minimum of Lower Credit

Candidates with Pass may also be considered

Candidates must have completed the one year mandatory students industrial attachment

A transcript is required from candidates who obtained their ND in other institutions other than Kings Polytechnic

A candidate is required to have obtained a National Diploma certificate in the relevant NBTE accredited programme

also required is a relevant qualifications specified in ll and at least one year post – ND Industrial work experience.
