The NYSC Camp is a compulsory three (3) weeks orientation programme you must pass through before you are later deployed or posted to your Place of Primary Assignment (PPA).
Every Corp members that go through this compulsory Twenty-One (21) days orientation programme must always have one or few stories to tell.

5 Ways To Have An Unforgettable NYSC Camp Experience
This article will highlight Five (5) ways you can have an unforgettable and a productive Camp experience.
1. Join SAED
The NYSC a few years ago introduced Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development to the list of orientation programs for corps members in the camp.
The SAED has helped a lot of corps members to develop one skill or the other. This is a platform for you to learn graphics, interior decorations, fashion designing, make-up, bead-making, fish farming etc. Lots of graduates have become self-employed through SAED.
2. Join a group
Another way to enjoy your NYSC camp experience is by joining a group. There are so many groups and associations you can join in the camp. Do you have interest in music, Information dissemination and social media? Join the Orientation Broadcasting Service OBS) team and the NYSC band. Including HIV AID Awareness Programme, NGOs etc.
There are also cultural groups as well as religious associations. The Muslim Corpers Association of Nigeria (MCAN) and the Nigeria Christian Corpers Fellowship (NCCF) are so popular on camp. You can join your religious group to improve your spirituality and at the same time have an exciting experience in camp.
3. Connect With Friends In NYSC Camp
This might look simple but NYSC is a good place to make some great friends. You’ve got to know what is good for you and what is bad for you. I know that not everyone can fall into the category of friends, but trust me, getting good friends can boost your networking skill and great partnership in the long run.
4. Run A Business On Camp
While many think going to NYSC camp will require you to spend the money you don’t have for three weeks, a business-minded graduate like you should ignore such a mindset and think of how to make money on camp.
Think of selling Airtime and Data. Uhm… what about Photography! Photography is probably the most popular business in NYSC camp. If you have a camera and you are very good at photography, you’ll certainly make some cool cash before leaving the camp.
5. Campfire Night
In the last week of the orientation programs, NYSC will let you have lots of fun activities that will make you want to come for another orientation. One of such activities to watch out for is the campfire night.
It’s your choice to hang out with friends and enjoy the experience as it’s one of the most interesting activities in the camp. You need to see the fun that comes with this activity. This seems to be the corps members happiest moment. But, be careful too so you won’t mar your experience.

What is the best group to join in NYSC camp?
The Red Cross is considered the best group to join on camp because of the importance of its mission and the fact that you get breaks from parades while you’re on duty. You also get special treatment from NYSC officials and security operatives.
What is the highest age for NYSC?
Is there any age limit for NYSC participation? Absolutely yes! Graduates who are older than 30 years of age at the time of graduation will not be eligible to join the National Youth Service Corps and a certificate of exemption will be issued to them and it is equivalent to a discharge certificate.
Can I reduce my age after NYSC?
The only way to reduce your age for NYSC is to change your date of birth on the JAMB portal through regularization.
Can I get a job without NYSC?
Government, NGO, and International Companies: To work with a government, most positions (if not all) require HND/BSC holders to possess NYSC discharged certificate. Can you redeploy twice in NYSC?
It is possible to apply for NYSC relocation twice, but it is important to note that you must have a valid and credible reason for your relocation. The NYSC management will consider your reasons before approving your application.
Can I do NYSC clearance without PPA?
If you haven’t been assigned a PPA or have been rejected without a PPA, you can still do your monthly clearance. In this case, you need to visit the LI with your letter of rejection and a posting letter. The LI will sign the posting letter, and you can leave your name.
What happens if you miss NYSC CDS?
Any member who leaves his duty station or absents himself from any official activity without the permission of the State Coordinator shall be tried by the Corps Disciplinary Committee and, if found guilty, be liable to extension of service with half pay double the period of absence.
