We recently published a post on 9 things to expect in NYSC Orientation Camp. In this post, we will enlighten you on the highest paying states for NYSC.

Many corps members always desire to earn more aside from the regular #33, 000 which is just a little above the Minimum wage (#30,000).

However, many state averagely pay N5,000 as allowance compared to what the highest paying states for NYSC do pay. For many prospective corps members, we want to believe your aim is to earn extra pay. Well, we have a list of 16 Highest NYSC paying states for you.

Highest Paying States For NYSC

Here are lists of Highest NYSC paying States in Nigeria;

  1. Akwa Ibom -N10,000 are paid to corpers, but NYSC doctors and nurses earn higher.
  2. Lagos state N15,000, N10,000 to corps members in ministry while N5000 to those serving in Local Government Areas.
  3. Enugu State N10,000 (no more paying)
  4. Sokoto  N9,000 to those serving in state hospitals.
  5. Niger State currently pays N6,000 and it is constant
  6. FCT- In Abuja you can earn as high as 30,000 if your fortunate.

These States Pay Corps Members Less Than N5000 As Monthly Allowance

Here are states that pay corps members between N3,000 and N5,000 monthly allowance.

  1. Abia State: Corps members serving in Abia State receive N5000 as allowance every month.
  2. Bayelsa state gives the sum of N3000 to its Nigerian Youth Service Corps. But the corps members won’t receive the money until few days before the completion of their NYSC program.
  3. Cross Rivers State: Corps members in Cross River state get N3,000 every month.
  4. Delta State: Serving corps members in this state get a sum of N5000 as monthly allowance.
  5. Ekiti State: Serving corps members get N5,000 to serving corps members.
  6. Jigawa State: Serving corps members get N5000 to corps members in the state.
  7. Kaduna State: Corps members in this state get N3,000 as allowance.
  8. Kano state is a little different, the state pays serving corps members in the state N4,000.
  9. Lagos State Lagos government also pays N5,000 to corps members except those who serve at the state government secretariat at Alausa. Those ones get N10,000.
  10. Nassarawa State Corps members in this state get N3,000 as monthly allowance.
  11. Ogun State If you are posted to serve in Ogun state as a corps members, the state government will pay you N5,000 as allowance.
  12. Osun State: Corps members in Osun State receive N5,000 as allowance.

Which state has the finest NYSC camp in Nigeria?

The most beautiful NYSC camp is Ogun State Orientation Camp

Because the camp is new and so are the facilities, the Ogun State orientation camp is arguably the best NYSC orientation camp in Nigeria. The camp’s equipment is fully operational and functional.

 

What is the best group to join in NYSC camp?

The Red Cross is considered the best group to join on camp because of the importance of its mission and the fact that you get breaks from parades while you’re on duty. You also get special treatment from NYSC officials and security operatives.

 

What is the highest age for NYSC?
Is there any age limit for NYSC participation? Absolutely yes! Graduates who are older than 30 years of age at the time of graduation will not be eligible to join the National Youth Service Corps and a certificate of exemption will be issued to them and it is equivalent to a discharge certificate.

 

Can I reduce my age after NYSC?
The only way to reduce your age for NYSC is to change your date of birth on the JAMB portal through regularization.

 

Can I get a job without NYSC?
Government, NGO, and International Companies: To work with a government, most positions (if not all) require HND/BSC holders to possess NYSC discharged certificate. In such cases, they also (except stated otherwise) accept both the exemption and exclusion letters being equivalent to discharged certificates.

 

Can you redeploy twice in NYSC?
It is possible to apply for NYSC relocation twice, but it is important to note that you must have a valid and credible reason for your relocation. The NYSC management will consider your reasons before approving your application.

 

Can I do NYSC clearance without PPA?
If you haven’t been assigned a PPA or have been rejected without a PPA, you can still do your monthly clearance. In this case, you need to visit the LI with your letter of rejection and a posting letter. The LI will sign the posting letter, and you can leave your name.

 

What happens if you miss NYSC CDS?
Any member who leaves his duty station or absents himself from any official activity without the permission of the State Coordinator shall be tried by the Corps Disciplinary Committee and, if found guilty, be liable to extension of service with half pay double the period of absence
