Federal University, Lokoja, School of Preliminary and Remedial Studies has commenced the sale of Pre-degree application forms for both foreign and indigenous candidates who are eligible to apply before the soon closure.

Who Qualifies For Admission?

1. Candidates with Deficiencies in their O’Level Results can apply for Pre-Degree I
2. Candidates with the minimum requirements for University admission but not offered admission can apply for Pre-Degree II

NOTE: Pre-Degree I and Pre-Degree II Programmes are ONLY available for courses in the Arts, Social Science and Science.

Admission Requirements: FULOKOJA Pre-Degree Form 2026/2027

• A candidate must possess at least five (5) O’Level credit passes which includes English Language, Mathematics and any Three (3) relevant subjects in not more than two (2) sittings.
• It is compulsory that candidates register for 2025 JAMB UTME with relevant subject combinations as stated in FULOKOJA website before being offered admission into 100 level

How To Apply: FULOKOJA Pre-Degree Form 2026/2027

Application fee is N10,000 and non-refundable. Ensure you pick your Pre-Degree form 2026/2027 before the closure. To purchase your own form, carefully follow the guidelines below:

1. Visit the University  website via www.fulokoja.edu.ng/admission
2. Click on “Pre-Degree Portal” and create your Account
3. Generate RRR and process payment through Online Banking or Physical Banking
4. Return to the Pre-Degree Portal and complete your application form
5. Print out your application form after inserting correct details and have submitted.

FULOKOJA Pre-Degree Programme runs in a single academic session, and available in the following Outreach centres:

Difference Between Pre-degree (Remedial) and IJMB (Interim joint matriculation board)

If you’re wondering, pre-degree and remedial are the same program at the University of Ibadan; it all depends on which of the two names the school chooses to associate or identify the program with.

PRE-DEGREE (REMEDIAL)

1. Program lasting between eight to twelve months
2. it provides admission to 100L (year one)
3. JAMB score is required prior to admission.
4. Before applying for the program, your O’level results must be complete.
5. Only one institution (the one running the program) has to offer you admission.
6. Not all courses are accepted for Pre-degree (e.g Medicine)
7. The Pre-degree result is valid for ONLY one year.
8. Most Nigerian universities charge around N150,000 to run.
9. Because lectures are primarily a review of O’level topics, they contribute little to students’ readiness for university education.

IJMB (interim joint matriculation board)

1. It offers a nine-month program.
2. Provides admission to 200L (year 2)
3. There is no need for a UTME before final admission because admission is by direct entry (DE)
4. Accepts an incomplete O’level and awaiting result.
5. Recognized by 75% of Nigerian  universities
6. Accepted into all courses, including medicine, law, and engineering
7. The result is valid for fifteen (15) years.
8. Programme cost about N110,000 to run
9. Because the lectures are A level, it prepares students for university education.
