1. You will carry too many course credit unit in your first year because you think you are a guru. University programmes are a million times different from your O’ level experiences.
You are likely to carry over some courses if you are not careful.
2. You probably won’t get to know your course supervisor or professor. They are often the expert in your field of study with most of them holding a PH.Ds.
They are the greatest resource you can get, so get to know your professors and take advantage of their experience.
3. You will engage in reckless spending expecially in your first year. When you begin your degree programme, you are going to have new set of experiences that will make you spend recklessly.
For instance, most ladies always want to catch up with the latest fashion trends on campus. This will make them spend recklessly.
You should learn how to manage your finance properly or you will get broke every time.
4. You probably going to waste too much time on social media that will inevitably distract you from your study time. you need to be careful about letting your Facebook or Instagram time affect your studies. Your school work should always come first.
5. ?You will skip classes at least one or two times in a semester if you are a serious student. That’s ok ! But when you are always skipping classes, it could have some serious repercussions.
Many lecturers include attendance as part of their grading scale. So if you are off the radar when your lecturer takes the class attendance, it could be very costly as you may be preparing for a carry over in that course.
6. You will stay off campus because you want your privacy or freedom. But i always advice students who are in their first or second year not to live off campus because the early stages of degree programmes usually determines whether a student graduates with a First class, Second class or Third class.
You should stay on campus as you will get more motivated to study and improve on your grades.
