  • Set a high UTME score target
  • Have a study plan
  • Use past questions
  • Revise and revise
  • Be confident In yourself

1. Set a high UTME score target

It is imperative to always set a target for yourself whenever you want to achieve something in life. Same method you should apply when you are preparing for a UTME exam.

Most Institutions in Nigeria set their cutoff marks or points between 150 and 200. It is important therefore that you set a high target for yourself, don’t settle for 200, aim higher, make 280 or 300 as your target and work towards it.

2. Have a study plan

Anybody who wants to achieve something and does not have a plan is set out for failure. Having a study plan or an organized timetable will help you achieve your UTME goals.

Since you are expected to register only four subjects for the examination, it is important you set aside enough time for your study schedule. You’ve got to diligently abide by your study plan to achieve your UTME goals.

3. Use past questions

Do you know that getting some past questions can help you understand UTME questions patterns better? Studying past questions can give you a clue about the arrangement of the questions in any UTME.

Begin by solving past questions from the year 2005 and try to make sure you solve and understand everything. You also get to have the opportunity to test your speed to know how fast you can be when attempting each part of the questions.

4. Revise and revise

As the saying goes “Practice makes perfect”. Regular exercise of an activity or skill is the way to become proficient in it. Spend more time to revise and practice well, especially when you are 2 weeks close to exam time.

Revision gives you a better understanding to understanding a particular topic. Revision is very effective and powerful. Do not fail to revise.

5. Be confident In yourself

Finally, optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. If you have no confidence in yourself, you are twice defeated.

Forget about what people are saying about JAMB and be confident that you can make it. Remember, the people who passed JAMB UTME and got admission into the school of their choice do not have Ten Heads. You too can do it. So be confident in yourself!

In conclusion, JAMB Exams can be tough, hard and make you feel you know nothing, but you can actually become a Jon Snow if you prepare hard for it.
