About the easiest courses to study in Nigeria, let’s start with:

  1. English Literature

The hardest part of English Literature as a course is the need to read. I mean, a lot! Outside of that, there isn?t much stress on the course. Mostly students read literature, discuss literature, and will occasionally be motivated to write their own literature with narrative techniques learned.

As an English Literature graduate, there are various opportunities available career-wise; most students go on to be web content writers, authors, and creative writers or look into PR and marketing jobs. A credit pass in the English language and any two Social Science subjects and Mathematics is a requirement for studying English Literature in any Nigerian Institution.

2. Zoology

This is a course that serves a great purpose to man. It helps him in the recognition and adaptation of his environment.

Successful graduates work as Zoologists, Ecologists, Conservationists, and still counting. A credit pass in Biology subject and any two of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics is a requirement for studying the course in any Nigerian Institution of your choice.

3. Sociology and Anthropology

Studying Sociology and Anthropology is all about the love and interest for the course; it teaches social behaviors about the world, and about themselves.

Being a graduate from Anthropology studies can lead you into becoming a Criminology expert, Human Resource Manager, Social Welfare officer, among others who go into business and advertising. A credit pass in Government subject and any two of Economics, Biology, and Mathematics is a requirement for studying the course.

4. Political science

Studying Political science as a course belongs to the faculty of social sciences. It is currently one of the easiest courses to study in Nigeria.

This course requires very small or no calculation. Graduates turn out to becoming Public office holders, Political Analyst, and Critics. Admission requirements include; Five O level credit passes which include English
Government or History plus two other Arts or Social sciences.

5. Education

Research has shown that students entering this field of study have low O’level results, yet they still graduate with the highest grades. If that?s not one of the easiest courses to study in Nigeria, I?m not sure what is. Many of the projects are fairly simple since the whole course is geared toward work with children.

There is almost always a demand for good teachers, which means that for those with an education degree, there are typically jobs available right after graduation. Admission requirements include; Five O level credit passes which include English and Mathematics.

6. History

History is among the easiest courses to study in Nigeria. In addition, history has low competition, therefore, the chance of gaining admission. This course falls in the department of arts & humanities.

Graduates turn out to work in Museums, Cultural centers, or become lecturers. Admission to study history is Five SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Geography, Government/History.

7. Language/Linguistic

Learning a language is a fairly easy task that requires passion; it is all about the art of memorization, something the human brain does very well. Those that can memorize well will do great in the course. Depending on the language studied, however, the course can be considered easier or more difficult. For example; learning French or Spanish is not very difficult, studying Russian or German is a little bit more difficult.

Those who study this course go on to be translators for airlines, advertising, get into editing & publishing, or work for foreign civil services. All the requirement you need is a credit pass in Mathematics, English language, either one of French, Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo Language, and a Social Science subject.

8. Library and Information Science

Library and information science is indeed one of the easiest courses to study in Nigeria. Library and information science can be studied in the faculty of social and management sciences, or under the faculty of education.

After graduation, you can work in Library facilities in any Industry. To study library and information science you require Five SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and two other science subjects.

9. Science Laboratory and Technology

With a science background and the passion to support analysis, investigation, research and development, you could study the course and work as a scientific laboratory technician doing various hematological, chemical, immunological and microbiological tests on blood and body fluids.

In Nigeria, this is one of the best courses in its Institutions. Not just because of the ease and simplicity of the course, but because job opportunities are readily available right after graduation.

Basic requirements for admission are Five(5) SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics, and good grades in Biology, Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics for UTME.

10. Religious Studies

For those curious about religious endeavors across the world and time, this course may be very interesting. There is definitely plenty to learn and speculate about religion, including the history and patterns of religion. Grading is a bit difficult to do in this course.

Having a religious studies degree is gives lots of opportunities to work in Religious facilities of relevance around the world. As a requirement for study, just have a credit pass in Mathematics and English with any three combinations of Science and Social Science subjects.

Make the best of Yourself

Now that you have settled for a course that is among the easiest courses to study in Nigeria, put in your best to have a good CGPA at the end of your program. Most of the time, students lose interest and zeal because the course of study they are given admission for wasn?t what they intended to study or they were unable to meet the requirements for their dream course.

Almost all the courses at the university are not easy, though, it may not attract many students or it may not be competitive at the point of entry.
