MTN, Glo, Airtel, 9Mobile Network Best In Nigeria

MTN, Glo, Airtel, 9Mobile: Which Network Is The Best In Nigeria?

Posted on June 3, 2025 By CampusTimesNG 3 Comments on MTN, Glo, Airtel, 9Mobile: Which Network Is The Best In Nigeria?

I have used MTN, Glo, Airtel, 9mobile Sim cards. But, I personally used to think that there is one browsing network that’s the fastest and best in Nigeria.

Some people share the view that Airtel has the best services in terms of the fastest internet or browsing network in Nigeria. It is one of the few Telecommunications network in Nigeria and many other African countries offering excellent data services.

I asked two of my colleagues, Noah and Anietie, and this is what they think:

Emem Anietie is a BSc. Holder who has been making money online since 2019.

She used to personally think that among MTN, Glo, Airtel, 9Mobile, there was one browsing network that’s the best in Nigeria but she had a change of mind when she traveled to a different state.

She thinks no single network is best in Nigeria. MTN Network is not the fastest where she lives in Akwa Ibom rather AIRTEL rocks.

Which Network is the Best for Browsing in Nigeria?

Though you may have difficulty with using AIRTEL Network in some parts of Akwa Ibom. This applies to so many different places in the country.

So, to be safe, use this useful advice: Get more than one browsing network between, MTN, Glo, Airtel, 9Mobile in case you travel you can still surf the internet seamlessly.

Which 4g Network is Best in Nigeria?

In 2019 the winning spot for the best 4G network in Nigeria went to Airtel 4G. The networks came tops head and shoulder above MTN, Glo, and 9Mobile and the rest of other competitors. What made us arrive at Airtel 4G as the best 4G network in Nigeria, we looked at all 3 factors behind every subscriber choices, these are:

  • Coverage,
  • Quality of Service,
  • and Price

The ideal LTE network choice is supposed to have very good network coverage, offer good quality of service, and be cheap for a sizeable number of users in its target market.

Has Nigeria launched 5G network?

MTN Nigeria in September last year, 2022, launched its commercial 5G network in Lagos, with a promise to carry out 5G commercial launch in six other cities, which include: Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Kano, Owerri, and Maiduguri. MTN became the first telecoms operator to launch a commercial 5G network in Nigeria.

Which Cities in Nigeria have 5G?

The 5G offering will be available in Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt in an initial phase, with plans to expand to other Nigerian cities in the near future. The telco said that those customers can use a 5G-compatible router to access fixed services, or a 5G-ready handset or tablet to access mobile services.

Which is the Fastest Network in Nigeria?

My second colleague named Prosper Noah has been an online marketer since 2016. He suggested between MTN, Glo, Airtel, 9Mobile that no network is the fastest.

Noah rather opined that it all depends on the area you are in.

Right there, while he was at Lekki-Ajah Lagos, Airtel happened to be the fastest for him. Though MTN may have been the fastest in another State. Be that as it may, the 9Mobile 3G network is also suggested as the fastest.

Glo used to be referred to as the poorest network but still yet, some people still choose it as the fastest in Benue State. So it all depends on the area you are currently living in.

Glo CUG is superb! I think Glo CUG is the best. I have been using it for almost two years now with my woman. Just need 2k for the two sims, 5huns subscription monthly save for the first month of activation. Then enjoy the chance to talk from morning till the next morning.

Of course…, nah you go tire…!

Therefore, in summary, none is fastest, none is slowest. It has to do with which one is working well in the place you are.

How To Compare Between MTN, Glo, Airtel, 9Mobile

In the proper perspective, knowing between MTN, Glo, Airtel, 9Mobile, which Network is the best in Nigeria should be measured by 3 purposes such as:

  • Personal Use,
  • Homes,
  • and Business which depends on if it is for small & medium scale business, or for Big Business.

It depends on various factors like location and type of use

For Personal use: Locations like Abuja and Lagos has Airtel and 9mobile as the fastest network

For Homes: In Abuja, the fastest is Ntel while in Lagos Spectranet is also very good

For large Business/offices: in Abuja suburban 9Mobile is the fastest, they provide high-speed unlimited internet via fiber optics cables while in other cities iPNX or MainOne cable company.
