What Is Awaiting Results?
Simply put, awaiting results are results that are being waited for. Many prospective tertiary institution students use this terminology to describe the state of their result. e.g When a candidate is waiting for his WAEC or NECO results, It is expected for him/her to say that such result is being awaited.
And if that candidate is applying for admission into admission into a University in Nigeria, he or she can then choose “Awaiting Result” to notify the school that such result will be provided in due time.

Why People Use Awaiting Result?
There are a lot of reasons why students use awaiting results to apply for admission.
- It may be that WAEC or NECO are yet to release the results of such candidate seeking for admission. It usually takes about 3 months from the date of examination before WAEC or NECO releases results, during which such candidates may be applying for admission. The applicants are usually at the mercy of the schools accepting them for admission.
- It may be that the result of such candidates has been withheld or seized and the applicant may be hoping they should release it someday.
- It may also be that the results are out but not yet complete or it’s having a deficiency.
- it may be that one single core subject is being withheld and the candidate is waiting for the result to be released.
How To Upload Awaiting Result To JAMB
For Now, uploading of awaiting result can only be done in JAMB Approved CBT centers, so just the way you could not register for JAMB all by yourself.
You cannot also upload O’ level result without JAMB accredited CBT registration centers as an intermediary.
To upload your O’ level result you must:
- Scan the O’ level result, WAEC, NECO or NABTEB that you wish to upload
- You will be asked to pay a paltry sum of about 1000 Naira depending on the center
- Wait for a period of 24 hours to allow the uploaded result to reflect on your JAMB CAPS
Latest Nigerian Schools That Accept Awaiting Results
In time past, it was quite difficult for schools to accept awaiting result. In short, they don’t allow it. But nowadays, some universities and polytechnics seem to be more lenient and now accepts o’level waiting result.
What most universities always do now is to give a general notice on when and how to submit your result before admission is finally released.
