1. Federal University of Technology, Akure

FUTA was established in 1981. The Federal university was created to produce graduates with practical and theoretical knowledge of technologies available in the country. In 2015, FUTA was rated the best university of technology in Nigeria according to webometrics rankings. it is also one of the institutions well equipped with various faculties of engineering there.

2. Federal University of Technology, Minna

The Federal University of Technology, Minna also known as FUTMINNA, was founded in 1983 and have churned out one of the best engineers we have in Nigeria today. The university currently has eight (8) schools of engineering and also offers postgraduate degrees.

3. Federal University of Technology, Owerri

The Federal University of Technology, Owerri is another university that specializes in awarding technological degrees. It is also located in Imo state and is popularly known as FUTO.

The university is held in high regard and has a high rating especially in the eastern part of the country. Moreso, the teaching techniques at the universities are quite fantastic. There are also workshops where students learn to build stuffs.

Recently, a group of students from the university built a solar powered three wheeled vehicle.

4. Ladoke Akintola University of Technology

LAUTECH is located in Ogbomoso in Oyo State. It was established by the state government in 1990. It was formally called the Oyo state university of Technology.

The university has 6 faculties and a college. For two consecutive seasons -2003 and 2004, it was rated the best state university in Nigeria by the Nigerian University Commission (NUC).

5. Obafemi Awolowo University

Located in Ile Ife, Osun state, the Obafemi Awolowo University is a highly ranked tertiary institution in the country. OAU has a mammoth alumni size, and these people are from important part of the society.

OAU has really exceptional lecturers who high quality teaching standard stays with their students for the rest of their lives. OAU’s faculty of technology is highly contested. It sees an intake of brilliant young minds and molds them into fantastic human beings.

6. University of Ilorin

UNILORIN is an award winning institution. it is one of the best universities in Nigeria and its engineering is top notch.

Located in Kwara State, UNILORIN was founded in 1975 and the Faculty of Engineering & Technology wasn’t created until 1978. The school also has lots of facilities and a rich academic atmosphere that aids learning.

7. Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria

The University also known as ABU was founded in 1962. The faculty of engineering was among the four pioneering faculties of the university. With so many alumni cut across all part of the country, the faculty of engineering is one to be reckoned with.

Over the years, the faculty has produced several departments of engineering such as: Agricultural & Bio-Resource engineering, chemical & Petroleum engineering, Civil engineering, Electrical and Computer engineering, Mechanical engineering, Metallurgical & Material engineering, and Water resource & environmental engineering.

8. University of Lagos

It is not surprising that the University of Lagos located at Akoka has become a place where students especially JAMBITES apply to for admission to study engineering courses. This is because UNILAG prides itself as one of the best as its great achievements in the engineering field speaks for itself.

9. University of Nigeria, Nsukka

UNN also has produced the best graduate in the engineering field. It was created in 1955 but became operational in 1960. It is also a top university to study engineering course in Nigeria.

10. University of Benin
