First-Year Kent Campus Student Requirements For Admissions
Admission to the Kent Campus as a first-year student is selective. The Admissions Office uses multiple factors to carefully review each applicant and make our admissions decisions.
Undergraduate Admissions Criteria & Requirements
To apply to the Kent Campus as a first-year applicant, you should:
- Be in your senior year of high school OR hold a high school diploma, GED or equivalent degree.
- Never have enrolled at a college or university after graduating from high school.
- Apply for admission using the Kent State Application or the Common Application.
- Pay the non-refundable $50 application fee.

Honors Scholarship
To be considered for the Honors Scholarship (for new freshman only), you must be invited to apply to the Honors College and submit your application to Honors by:
- December 1st for Spring semester (January start)
- January 15th for Fall semester (August start)
