What To Expect On JAMB CBT Exams Day
You will be given two hours to answer 180 questions; 60 for English, and 40 for each of the other subjects. Speed and accuracy matter a lot. If you have been using the JAMB CBT Mobile App (for Android mobile phones) and JAMB CBT Software (for Desktops and Laptops), the examination should be simple enough.
Important Computer Keyboard keys to remember
If you are using the keyboard, here are the most important keys;
N – To move to the next question
P – To go back to the previous question
A – To select option A on a question
B – To select option B on a question
C – To select option C on a question
D – To select option D on a question
S – To submit your exam (Be Careful)
R – To Cancel Submit (and RETURN)
The above will be stated before you start the exam, so you should read the instructions properly before starting.
However, you should note that there are actions you may not be able to perform using the keyboard. In this case, you must use your Mouse (or track-pad). These are;
If you need to switch from one subject to another. That is if you want to answer a particular subject before going to another.
If you need to use the on-screen calculator at the top right corner of your screen.
The on-screen calculator will be available on the screen for candidates who will be taking subjects that involve calculations.
7 tips on How To Score Above 300 in JAMB 2026 CBT Exam
Many applicants don’t understand the role their JAMB scores play in their chances of admission. For most schools in Nigeria, their departmental cutoff marks are assessed by averaging the candidates’ UTME and post-UTME scores. So you have a pretty good head start if your JAMB score is high—at least 300 or higher.

- Ask your friends or tutor questions if you don’t understand anything
- When writing the exam, endeavor not to waste time on questions you don’t know. Don’t skip, select an answer and move on, you might not get the chance to come back to that question.
- Shun exam malpractice, and remember there is nothing like JAMB or UTME exam expo. Question are numbered differently. Your questions are very different from the person next to you even if it is the same subject.
- Join a serious study group, or create one yourself.
- Stay up-to-date with updates and information with regards to your JAMB exam, center, slip reprinting etc.. Lack of information has made candidates miss out on their JAMB exam

How To Avoid Missing JAMB Exam
- To avoid missing your JAMB UTME examination ensure you travel to your JAMB exam venue at least 3 or 2 days prior to your exam date.
- Identify the examination centre, and study the nature of traffic that occurs before the hour preceeding the exam.
- Determine whether to book an hotel space or find a day’s accommodation or squart in order to avoid lateness.
- Ensure you get to the exam venue at least 2 hours before the starting time.
- Take with you adequate writing materials.
- Don’t forget to have a good breakfast, but avoid drinking too much water to delay frequent visiting of the toilet.
- Take prior adequate medication to avoid falling sick on exam day.
- Be confident of yourself and pray before you start your exam.
