How to Determine Your YABATECH Post-UTME Screening Score
If you apply to study anyone of Yaba College of Technology Courses, you will need your JAMB score and O’level results to calculate the post-UTME screening score.
You must perform four calculations in order to calculate the aggregate score;
1. The JAMB aggregate.
2. O’level aggregrate.
3. Bonus point
4. The post-UTME score.
Step 1: Determine your JAMB aggregate.
Divide your JAMB score by 8 and write the result down.
The example below is for someone who received a JAMB score of 180.
180/8 = 22.5
Proceed to the next step after calculating your JAMB aggregate.
Step 2: Determine your O’level using the grading system outlined below.
You must only calculate for five relevant subjects when calculating the O’level result (Mathematics and English is compulsory).
Below is the grading system that YABATECH employs to calculate candidates’ O’level results.
A1 = 3.0 points.
B2 = 2.5 points
B3 = 2.0 points
C4 = 1.5 points
C5 = 1.0 point
C6 = 0.5 points
Use the grading system below for NABTEB.
A1 = 3.0 points.
A2 = 2.5 points.
A3 = 2.0 points.
C4 = 1.5 points
C5 = 1.0 point
C6 = 0.5 points
Write down your total O’level aggregate score after you’ve calculated it.
Step 3: Bonus Points
YABATECH gives bonus points based on the number of O’level results you have. Candidates who apply with a single O’level result receive 5 points, while candidates who apply with two different O’level results receive 2.5 points. Take note of this and record it somewhere.
Step 4: Incorporate your Post-UTME score.
Candidates will take a Post-UTME exam based on three subjects: mathematics, English, and general papers. The exam will last 30 minutes and will consist of 40 questions.
If you are reading this article after receiving your YABATECH Post-UTME score, simply write it down and proceed to the next step.
However, if you have not taken the exam, you must skip this section.
Step 5: Add all of the scores from the previous steps.
Now that you’ve gotten the scores in the previous four steps, add them all up.
JAMB Aggregate + O’ Level Aggregate + Post UTME score + Bonus point = SCREENING RESULT
Your final answer is your post-UTME screening score at YABATECH.
You can compare your results to the cut-off points from previous years if you are interested in doing so for few reasons.
