There are several accredited courses offered at Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin. Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin was founded by the Abdul-Raheem Oladimeji Islamic Foundation (AROIF) in 2005. On the 7th of January 2005, the Federal Government of Nigeria granted the University a license to operate as a Conventional Private University (License No. 010). It began academic activity with 70 students in the 2005/2006 academic term, distributed between three (3) take-off colleges: (Humanities, Management Sciences, and Natural Sciences).

• Applicants must have a JAMB result and a minimum of five (5) credits in WASSCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB/SISC Examinations or their equivalent in the disciplines relevant to their planned Undergraduate Programmes at not more than two (2) sittings.
• All candidates must complete a credit-bearing English language course.
• In addition, individuals seeking admission to the Faculty of Management Sciences, Natural and Applied Sciences, and several Education Courses must have a credit in mathematics. Applicants with appropriate qualifications who have completed the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) DE Form are also eligible for Direct Entry admission.

METHODS OF APPLICATION

•  Applicants to Al-Hikmah University Online must pay a non-refundable fee of N2,000 for full-time undergraduate programs, N5,000 for part-time undergraduate programs, N10,000 for Sandwich and Top-up programs, N10,000 for Postgraduate Diploma Programs, and N20,000 for Masters and Ph.D. programs.

Requirements for Post-Graduate Courses Offered at Offered at Al-Hikmah University

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD): Applicants must hold a First Degree from Al-Hikmah University Ilorin or a similar institution. Higher National Diploma (HND) holders are also eligible. Candidates must, however, meet the University’s O’level standards.

Master’s Degree: Graduates of Al-Hikmah University Ilorin or other recognized universities who wish to pursue an academic or professional Master’s degree must have a minimum of a Second Class Honours Degree (Lower Division). Applicants with a Third Class Honours Degree and a Postgraduate Diploma Certificate in a relevant field, on the other hand, may be admitted if they obtain a minimum of 60% on the qualifying examination offered by the University’s various Departments.

Doctorate Degree: Applicants having a Master’s degree from Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, or any other recognized university must have received a CGPA of at least 60 percent or equivalent in their final Master’s degree examination to be considered for admission to Doctor of Philosophy programs. Candidates having a GPA of less than 60% but not less than 50% may apply for M.phil/Ph.D. All Ph.D. and Mphil/Ph.D. applicants must attend an interview held by various University Departments. The conclusion of the interview determines whether or not you will be admitted.

ALL CANDIDATES must apply early for their official Degree academic transcripts to be addressed to The Dean, Postgraduate School, Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, regardless of the institution where the preceding Degree was achieved. The following entrance conditions must be met by candidates:

• Applicants must have a minimum of five (5) credit-level O’Level subjects in relevant topics in not more than two (2) sittings in the subjects relevant for admission into Contact Session One (1).
• The criteria for Direct Entry (Contact Session 2) are an ND/NCE/HND certificate.
• The Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) credit pass in English Language at the O’Level is equivalent to the SSCE, NECO, GCE (O’Level), or SSCE.

DURATION OF PROGRAMME

• HND/OND/NCE/IJMB: Four Contact Sessions.
• SSCE/NECO/NABTEB: Five Contact Sessions.
