After JAMB UTME examination, what we expect next is the admission screening exercise.
In one of the previous articles I wrote, I discussed how schools will conduct Post-UTME/Direct Entry admission exercise. If you miss that post, I suggest you peruse it as it will be of great help to you.
This time, however, I will be walking you through some useful tips on how to succeed in the admission screening exercise.
But before that, I will like to make this important point clear to you. If you think because you ace JAMB this year, or you scored above 280 or 300 points, and think you don’t need help from someone to guide you through your school admission screening exercise, then you are making a BIG MISTAKE.
The truth of the matter you need to know is that exams scenario usually differs. The way and manner you prepare for JAMB CBT exams differ from school admission screenings. And, that’s what I am here to help you understand.
I will give you some useful tips to help you succeed in the screening test for any university you applied to for admission.
Below are tips to help you succeed in your admission screening exercise.
Tips To Succeed In The Admission Screening
- If you notice that you made errors in your personal information during registrations, make corrections on that immediately, or you know your JAMB Cut-off marks are low for the University you choose, change the institution before they screen you out.
- Secondly, get the necessary documents that will be needed for screening, at most a day to the screening exercise.
- Thirdly, make sure you register for the admission screening on time and don’t wait until the day of the exam.
- Fourthly, get to know the date and time for your screening as well as the venue. You are expected to get that done a day to the screening exercise.
- Study well enough and revise with past questions.
- More importantly, if you are yet to perfect your computer base test skills, practice it well to get used to the processes. There are CBT APPLICATIONS readily available for you for practicing, even without an internet connection.
- Arrive at the screening venue on time, do not wait till it’s time before you start running there.
- Carefully read through all instructions before you begin to answer the questions.
- You should begin with subjects you are really good at as this will give you the confidence to take on the other subjects.
- Finally, put in your best and believe that God will help you with the rest. Didn’t they say heaven helps those who help themselves? Just be positive and optimistic that you will do excellently well and get the admission.
If you carefully follow these tips, your admission screening will be very easy. In case you have any questions to ask, kindly indicate that through the comment box below. We will reply to you promptly.
