OOU Cut-Off Mark

Although, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) had set the cut-off marks or benchmark of 140 for Universities, 100 for Polytechnics and Colleges of Education.

Olabisi Onabanjo University has however pegged their minimum cut-off marks to 160 for it 2025/2026 admission exercise.

The Olabisi Onabanjo University has officially released the admission requirements for the academic year 2025/2026. This announcement is intended for the general public, especially for prospective applicants to Olabisi Onabanjo University.

OOU Admission Requirements for JAMB UTME 2025/2026

To be admitted to OOU through JAMB (UTME), candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Candidates with O’ level results must have at least five (5) credit passes in no more than two sittings (WAEC, NECO, GCE, etcetera..).
  • Must have at least 5 credit passes in relevant subjects. Three relevant subjects including English language and mathematics, must be included in the credit passes. Please keep in mind that OOU will not accept anything less than credit passes in the required subjects.
  • The JAMB subject combination chosen by the candidate must be appropriate for their desired course.
  • Candidates must have obtained a minimum score of 160 in the recent JAMB UTME examination.
  • The Olabisi Onabanjo University, OOU must be the candidate’s first choice.
  • Candidates must participate in the OOU POST UTME/SCREENING process to be considered for admission for the academic year.
  • Applicants must be at least sixteen years old.

OOU Admission Requirements for Direct Entry (DE) 2025/2026

The following are the eligibility requirements of the institution for all candidates who wish to seek admission into the above-mentioned school before fully applying into the program.

The admission criteria for candidates applying to Olabisi Onabanjo University through Direct Entry includes:

  • Candidates must have obtained at least 5 credits in their O’level results (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB), including English and Mathematics, in not more than two (2) sittings, to be eligible for enrollment in an OOU course of study.
  • All candidates must have a minimum of Upper Credits in the relevant field of study, whether it is an ND, HND, or NCE, or another program approved by the institution.
  • Direct Entry applicants must obtain the Direct Entry form from the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and select OOU as their preferred institution.
  • The candidate must have selected the appropriate JAMB subject combination for their chosen course.
  • OOU must be the candidate’s top choice of institution.
  • Non-participation in the OOU screening exercise will result in the candidate not being considered for admission.
  • By the end of this year, in October, the applicant must be 16 years old.
  • OOU accepts First Class Degrees, Second Class Degrees, and Upper Credit in relevant courses only.

In addition, to be eligible for admission into Olabisi Onabanjo University, you must meet some certain admission requirements to be qualified for their screening exercise and be worthy to be offered provisional admission.

Is direct entry permitted at OOU?
OOU admits candidates to any of the available programs, including Undergraduates degree programs, Direct Entry programs, Pre-degree programs, Postgraduate programs, and many more.

Is OOU willing to accept lower credit for direct entry?
OOU Admission through Direct Entry:

Holders of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) with at least Upper Credit in any of the following subjects: Science Laboratory Technology, Nutrition, Food Technology/Science, Agricultural Science, or other allied courses, or holders of a Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least Lower Credit.

Is OOU open to second choices?
NO CAPITAL! Candidates who select Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) as their second choice institution on the JAMB form are not admitted. This means that if you select OOU as a secondary university when registering for the JAMB UTME, you will not be considered for admission.

How much is the OOU hostel fee?
Depending on the hall, it costs between 55,000 and 80,000 naira. Every OOU student is not required to live in a hostel. Students in the following departments or faculties, however, are required to live in the school hostel for their 100 Level.

What are the admission requirements for OOU?

            It depends on meeting OOU Admission Requirements. However OOU offers Admission to to first choice candidates.
