Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin, popularly referred to as? KWCOE was founded in September 1974 by the Kwara State Government. The College is situated in the ancient city of Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State.
The higher institution started off as School of Education and was administered by the Kwara State Polytechnic. But by 1976, the College was fully detached from Kwara State Polytechnic and formally named Kwara State College of Education which is now sited in Oro. It is presently affiliated to the University of Ilorin.
The school runs Pre-NCE, NCE regular and part-time programs, as well as offer other degree courses. Students who pass through the degree program are subsequently awarded bachelor of education certificates. It also offer diploma and A’ Level courses i.e IJMB that’s affilated to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

To be offered a place in this higher institution, applicants must fulfill all conditions or admission requirements to be offered provisional admission into the college.
- Candidate(s) who choose the Kwara State College Of Education ILorin as their first choice of institution during UTME and whose cut off points is 120 and above are eligible to apply.
- Candidate have to obtain any of WASSSC, NECO or GCE ?O? Level with at least passes in Five (5) subjects to incude English Language, 3 of which have to be at credit level at the same sitting or 4 credits at 2 sittings. Two of the credits have to be relevant to the program the candidates desires to offer.
- A Credits in Mathematics and English may be requested or needed in some courses to meet departmental criteria.
- Candidates should also note that all full-time NCE courses will runed for a minimum of three regular years.
- Candidates who are interested in furthering their education can enroll for any of the degree programmes offered by the institution upon completion of their NCE courses.
