JAMB UTME Subject Combination Theatre Arts

A Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts has become very competitive. The clear knowledge of the prerequisites will enable you to have seamless registration and also avoid slight mistakes.

The profession of an Actor also known as Dramatist usually leads to the social limelight for those who are passionate about Theatre Arts. In some Nigerian Universities, for instance, in Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, it is called Dramatic Arts.

 

What does Theatre Art do?

Theatre is a collaborative art form which combines words, voice, movement and visual elements to express meaning. The field of theatre encompasses not only live improvised and scripted work, but also dramatic forms such as film, television and other electronic media.

 

What are the courses under Theatre Art?

The special areas include Playwriting, Directing, Acting Voice and Speech, Design and Technical Theatre, Dance and Choreography, Theory and Criticism (TfD Sociology) Film and Media Arts Production and Theatre Management and Marketing.

  • Literature -in- English,
  • and any two other Arts subjects.

If you meet the required prerequisites for Theatre Arts/ Dramatic Arts/ Performing Arts, you may proceed with your UTME registration. Below are three (3) subjects combination to qualify to be given admission in any Nigerian University through JAMB UTME Entry.

  1. Use of English,
  2. Lit. in English and
  3. two other relevant subjects.

Direct Entry Requirements For Theatre Arts:

Provided you meet the required prerequisites for Theatre Arts/ Dramatic Arts/ Performing Arts, you may proceed with your Direct Entry registration. See Direct Entry subject combination to qualify to be given admission in any Nigerian University.

  • Two (2) A-Level passes in Arts,
  • Social Sciences or Science subjects.
