JUST IN: JAMB BEGINS RESCHEDULING OF 2025 UTME CANDIDATES WITH TECHNICAL GLITCHES (DETAILS)

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has begun the rescheduling of candidates with technical hitches.

Recall that following the commencement of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination on Thursday, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has appealed to candidates who experienced glitches on thursday, Friday in the course of the examination to remain calm as they would be rescheduled.

The examination board has commenced the rescheduling of affected candidates at the time of filling this reports. Affected candidates are now being texted via their personal mobile number or through check on the jamb’s portal

“All candidates, who could not sit for the UTME from thursday, 24th April, 2025, on account of technical challenges, have been rescheduled”, the board said in a statement, Tuesday evening,” after JAMB management meeting at the close of today’s examination, which incidentally is the first day of the 2025 UTME.”

The statement, released through its Spokesman, Fabian Benjamin, read further:” Following the announcement, candidates, who for technical reasons could not take the examination, are to print a new examination notification early tomorrow morning, saturday, 26th April, 2025, to know their new scheduled sessions.

“It is to be noted that about 100 centres out of the 708 centres participating in the 2025 UTME exercise across the country, experienced technical challenges that prevented their allotted candidates from successfully taking their examination.

“The Board reiterated its determination to deploy world-class assessment in line with global best practices to deliver quality assessment and regretted any inconveniences experienced by candidates and their parents.

The statement further restated that the series of challenges encountered were on account of some novel features deployed by the Board to safeguard the sanctity of the examination by checkmating all incidences of examination misconduct being perpetrated and perpetuated by vested interests.

“The Board, therefore, reiterated the commitment of its technical team working round the clock to ensure that tomorrow’s exercise is devoid of any hitches.

“Meanwhile, the Board assures Nigerians that no candidate would be denied the right of taking his/her examination because in case of any challenges experienced, such a candidate would be rescheduled to take the examination in the next available date and space.”

The best way to avoid missing an important examination is to visit the Exam Center at least a day before the exam date.
Study the traffic situation in the morning hours. Then, that should determine how early you should leave your home for the exams.
Usually, you should arrive at the exam venue at least 3 hours before the exam start time.

Hi Lily, I feel so sorry for missing your exams.
While we are seeking JAMB to reschedule the exams, it is important to note that whenever you are slated to seat for an exam outside your state, you should travel there at least 2 days ahead. Then visit the exam location prior to the exam date in order to observe the traffic distance to the exam venue which should help you to accurately determine the best time to get to the exam center promptly.

I had exam on the 6th of May,in port Harcourt. But it was cancelled due to technical issues and I was told it would be rescheduled and that I was going to get a message of a new venue, date and time. Only for me to find out yesterday that they wrote the exam on Monday and I wasn’t aware. I didn’t see any message. I still have not seen any message. Please sir, is there anything that can be done? Help me sir. I really need this Jamb.

Hi Emmanuel, it is enough to have travelled at least 2 days before the exam to find your exam centre and understand the terrain of the traffic. However, you can assess the chance for the rescheduled JAMB exam for candidates who missed their exam.

Good evening Sir, please my sister missed her jamb because she was rescheduled for a different date after the first day technical issues and she checked the site without seeing a new date she was told to hold on, next moment checking was that her exams was by 3pm while she checked at 6pm, and the distance was far she couldn’t make it to the venue

      Hi, victor west,
In addition to this, three categories of candidates who missed their examinations have been scheduled for mop-up examinations. This category includes candidates who were verified at their centres but couldn’t sit for the exam, those who couldn’t be biometrically verified, and those with mismatched data. The board has fixed Saturday, May 6, 2023, for these candidates to take their examinations.
