According to the latest report we are getting, the Director General of NYSC, Brigadier General Suleiman Kazaure comfirmed that the long awaited NYSC allowance increment for corps members would soon be announced.

According to Kazaure “the expected release of report by a committee set up by the Federal Government to review the minimum wage will address the call to review corps members allowances in Nigeria”.

He therefore asked corps members to exercise patience, noting that he was hopeful the report will put smiles on the faces of the serving members.

Latest News On NYSC State Allowance

Just in case you are not aware, in 2020 the NYSC increased the allowances of corps members from ₦19,800 to ₦33,000, months after a new minimum wage bill of ₦30,000 was signed.

But now, the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu led admission have signed to law that NYSC members across all 36 Sates in the Federal Republic of Nigeria be paid the basic allowance of N77,000.

Going by the current inflation of goods and services in the country, for an average corp member, these allowance can barely go anywhere in meeting his or her needs.

However, from the information we are getting, some lucky corp members do receive other forms of payments or stipends form their Place of Primary Assignment (PPA).

While, others due to their Course of Study and or location are able to receive better payment packages from their PPA.

NYSC Allowance In Abuja And Akwa Ibom

For instance, a corp member who reside in Abuja, if lucky to be posted to a firm, can be paid between N70,000 to 90,000 Naira.

Meanwhile, if a corper is posted to a State like Akwa Ibom, He or She will receive N30,000 per month as State allowance plus other stipends.

NYSC Doctor Allowance

Also for some corp members who are in the Medical profession like Doctors, Nurses and Pharmacist, and posted to Teaching hospitals or Clinics, may receive nothing less than N 350,000 Naira monthly.

If you are posted to Akwa Ibom State Hospitals or Clinics, you will get nothing less than N150,000 naira as NYSC State allowance, aside from your federal allowance.
