What is new about WAEC GCE 2025 Registration?

The WAEC GCE 2025/2026 First Series will be the first time that WAEC will conduct the examination using the Computer Based Examination (CBE) mode. This means that the Objective Tests will be fully computerized, while the Essay and Test of Practical papers will be hybrid, where the questions will be displayed on the computer screen and the candidates will write their answers on the answer booklets provided.

According to WAEC, this innovation is in line with global best practices and will enhance the quality and reliability of the examination. It will also reduce the chances of examination malpractice and ensure faster release of results.

Is it true that WAEC SSCE is for private candidate, and WAEC GCE is for public school students as it was stated in the first paragraph

Hi Akinayo Iseayo, Thank you for drawing my attention to that point.
There are two types of WAEC examinations? One is WAEC SSCE which is for private and public schools or individuals, while the other, WAEC GCE is in addition to the regular Secondary School Certificate Examination, usually for individuals who are yet to reach their expected credit passes.
