It is now an old news that the former minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, In June 2016, announced the cancellation of the Post-UTME examination which was introduced in 2004.
One of the arguement raised by the Minister was that, the Post-UTME exams have failed to produce better quality students by the universities, as students are still being expelled every year for low performance even though they gained admission through Post-UTME.
Therefore, under the new arrangement, tertiary institutions would no longer conduct any form of Post JAMB examination. Candidates would now be getting admission directly from JAMB.
Also, tertiary institutions that selects candidates for admission must get direct approval from JAMB.
When Will Post UTME Forms 2024/2025 be Released?
The Joint Admission Matriculation Board JAMB has set Friday 19th July, 2024 as the official date for the sale of Post UTME forms across all tertiary institutions in Nigeria. On this date school portals would be open for prospective candidates to purchase their anticipated Post UTME forms.
How To Know If You Are Eligible For Admission Screening
Here is how to know if you are eligible for 2024/2025 admission screening. it will be calculated like this:
STEP 1 : Number of sittings for O’Level
- One sittings = 10 marks
- Two sittings = 3 marks
Total marks obtainable = 10 marks
STEP 2 : O’Level Results Grading from 5 subjects
- A (A1) = 6 marks
- B (B2, B3) = 4 marks
- C (C4, C5, C6) = 3 marks
Total marks obtainable = 30 marks
STEP 3 : JAMB UTME Score Grades
- 180-200 = 20-23 marks
- 200-250 = 24-33 marks
- 251-300 = 34-43 marks
- 300-400 = 44-60 marks
Total marks obtainable = 60 marks
Admission Screening Methods|How Schools Will Conduct 2024 Post-UTME/DE Admission Excercise
Schools uses various methods for admission screening. Whichever method they decide to adopt, candidates must be ready for it.
# 1. Online Screening: Some schools will ask you to upload your UTME and O’Level results as well as other relevant documents online. The school admission officer will now have to go through all the documents you have provided to determine if you are qualified for admission.
# 2. Physical Screening: This type of screening is done physically. The school will ask you to present your documents in the school premises or at any other designated venue or centre. All you need to do is to visit the school on the specific date and go through the screening excercise.
# 3. Aptitude Test: Some schools may decide to screen candidates through aptitude test/exams. Direct Entry (DE) candidates should be ready for this type of screening method.

The answer is Yes. You can write Post UTME in two schools as long as you put the schools while registering for JAMB. JAMB does not restrict the number of universities you can choose during the UTME registration process.
When will Post UTME Be Out for 2024?
When will Post UTME Registration For 2024 start? JAMB has announced 19th July 2024 as the commencement date for the sale of the 2024/2025 Post-UTME forms for all universities in Nigeria. This means all schools will start selling their 2024 Post UTME screening Form from 19th July 2024.
How many minutes is Post UTME?
The duration of the aptitude test is 30 minutes. The time starts to count immediately candidates click the start button and continues to count even if they log out before the 30 minutes lapses.
How many questions is asked for UTME?
Exam. subjects are 40 questions each. (60 + (40×3)) = 180.
Can I change institution after post UTME?
Yes, it’s possible to change institution after taking the UTME.

@ ogonna… In most cases, mass com is under social sciences…The subject combination for masscom is Literature In English, Economics and Government or CRK/IRK.

Good afternoon admin, please my son sat for jamb and he’s qualify for admission by all standards stated above, but only for not admitted to the school he registered for the post UTME just because they said he is about 4 months to reach 16yrs old.please, let us know the way forward as age wasn’t part of the yardstick given to obtain jamb form during the sales of forms.

Since your son is not yet 16 years before admission, you are advised to immediately change school to a private Institution.
