Solution To NYSC Date Of Birth Problem

Posted on May 18, 2025 By CampusTimesNG 411 Comments on Solution To NYSC Date Of Birth Problem

NYSC date of birth problem to prospective corps members (PCMs) have always been a reoccurring issue. If you are having change of birth issues, it means:-

  • You made a mistake with your date of birth during NYSC online registration
  • Your NYSC online registration was done by some one else who missed a few steps with your date of birth.
  • You just realize that you are overaged and now wondering how to change it.

Now, whichever of these categories you find yourself, the solution to your problem is here.

The NYSC change of birth portal dashboard is an online platform where National Youth Service Corps members can correct a date of birth error.

During their online registration on the NYSC portal, many prospective youth corpers make mistakes with their date of birth or course of study. As a result, you can modify the date or course of study on the NYSC portal login dashboard.

WAEC and JAMB exam dates of birth are used by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). Your registration date of birth (DOB) with these examination boards must be the same.

Any discrepancy in your date of birth will have an impact on you in the future.
It will take you between twenty-four (24) and forty-eight (48) hours to make the correction for your birth date on the NYSC online portal.
The NYSC date of birth change is free.

I was about to verify my age with my waec but I noticed that it is 1/June/2000 instead of 1/July/200 should I still go with the verification although the months are different. Even though I have completed my NYSC online registration. I have my original birth cert to prove my basis for correction. Thanks.

            February 21, 2022 at 5:14 pm

Hi Omotayo, NYSC does not use WAEC biodata, it uses JAMB registered biodata. To correct your DOB, take your birth certificate to Orientation Camp and with a court affidavit to correct the wrong one.

Which one of them is the correct DOB? Also, if you are exempted, it may not be reversed except you correct your JAMB regularisation. Back up with the original birth certificate and a court affidavit asking NYSC to recognise the correct DOB.

NYSC uses your JAMB information for mobilization. Also, your two date of birth is in same year. To JAMB, it is computed as same age which you can leave alone.
But if you insist on changing it, you can get a court affidavit to support the correct DOB along with your Birth Certificate.

Hi Nitha, if your JAMB personal details is wrong, that might be where the problem is coming from. it would be difficult. Because NYSC uses JAMB personal information for your Mobilization. If not, then get a court affidavit to prove your real Date of Birth and write your NYSC State Coordinator so they can change it for you.

If your Date of Birth on the NIN is not correct, go to the NIN centre with your original Birth certificate to ask for a correction.

Whether 1998 or 1999 you are within the eligible age for NYSC.
However, NYSC actually uses the information you filled for JAMB. So if you insist on changing your DOB to the correct one, go to court and swear an affidavit for the correct DOB. Then use that as evidence during NYSC registration.

Hi, Ayodokun, be informed that NYSC utilises your JAMB information. So in the eyes of NYSC you are 34 this year. That means you are aged beyond the eligible ages for Youth Service.

Hi Olakunori, to correct the wrong DOB, you should swear an affidavit for the correct one. Publish it on a national newspaper. Take both the affidavit and the newspaper page to the NYSC Orientation Camp to effect your change during Registration.

          NYSC Date of birth Problem:

The new procedure for prospective corps members is to submit the following:-
          Login to your dashboard and click on the link to DATE OF BIRTH;

Enter WAEC Verification Pin, select WAEC type, year of exam and enter your examination number; and

          Click on verification button

          Click SUBMIT or CANCEL.

You can effectively change it IF the mistake on your DOB occurred while registering online. But if NYSC is not responsible for the error, I am afraid it will not work. So give it a try.

Hi Mabel, you are fit for service. However, if you want to correct the wrong DOB, you must visit your School admissions office and ask for a correction with your original birth certificate as evidence. However, after this correction has been made, your school should be required to report the changes to NYSC.

The point is that the correction can only be done by your school which gave the wrong information. Therefore if the school corewcta it, they will also forward your correct information to NYSC against the next batch with your name will come up for service.

      Hi Benjamin,
you need to get a court affidavit to prove your correct DOB.
Get your original birth certificate too.
NYSC didn’t do the mistake, it’s you who did. So if you still insist on correcting it, you must report the error on your JAMB to the JAMB office and your school.
This procedure can change your service year to another year.

You need to write WAEC for biodata correction, but show evidence of your birth certificate.

Registration for NYSC batch B stream 1 is currently ongoing and it’s to end today.
I just realized today that there’s a mistake in my date of birth.

My correct dob is 2/09/2000 but what is in my NYSC registration and thus jamb is 9/9/2000.

I have been able to generate the WAEC verification pin and to fill up all the fields necessary for change of birth date but I keep getting this error message “ Your request cannot be processed, ensure you have not applied before”. Please what do I do as our camp is scheduled to kick off by 12th July?
Thankyou as I await your humble response.

Your DOB on WAEC does not agree with that of JAMB. You must present your original birth certificate to NYSC and back it up with a court affidavit.
Meanwhile, you should get another court affidavit for your DOB, asking WAEC to correct your DOB.

You would not be exempted at 30 years.

If you are mobilized this year, you won’t be exempted from NYSC Service.

I registered for B2 but the date of birth on my jamb is incorrect but the one on my WAEC is correct
I’m trying to change it with my WAEC information but it keeps saying “Your request cannot be processed. Ensure you have not applied before” and I’ve not applied before” and I’ve not applied before

    Please what can I do?
