Niger Delta University is in Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State in the southern part of Nigeria. It is a Bayelsa state government-funded university. In 2002, It was established by Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha, then governor of Bayelsa state.

The Niger Delta University popularly known as NDU, was established in 2000. It currently two main campuses, one in the state capital, Yenagoa, which contains the law faculty, and the other in Amassoma. Niger Delta University has come a long way since its establishment and ranks among the 50 best universities in Nigeria.

Niger Delta University courses

The University offers a wide range of programmes from the full-time certificate, diploma and degree programmes cutting across Twelve (12) Faculties. The faculties and their respective departments are Faculty of Arts, Agricultural Technology, Basic Medical Sciences, Engineering, Clinical Sciences, Education, Law, Management Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy,Sciences and Faculty of Social Sciences.

Niger Delta University Admission Requirements

To study at Niger Delta University, you must possess the following requirements:

  • The candidate must be over 16 years of age in the year of admission (Some student swear an affidavit just to increase their ages)
  • Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 credit passes in relevant subjects which must include English Language and mathematics at GCE O’Level, WASCE, SSCE, NECO or approved equivalents at not more than 2 sittings.
  • Candidates with Teachers Grade II (TC II) with passes at credit or merit levels in conjunction with credit passes in relevant subjects at GCE, WASCE, SSCE, NECO or approved equivalents may be considered. No subject may be counted at both TC II and GCE O/Level, WASCE, SSCE, NECO or approved equivalents.
  • The candidate must make at least 180 pass mark in JAMB to qualify for internal screening.

What is the cut off mark for NDU?

To be eligible to write NDU post UTME screening exercise, candidates must have scored a mark not less than 150 in the recently conducted JAMB UTME. The cut-off mark for all the under-listed degree courses at NDU is 150.

 

Niger Delta University NDU Post UTME Subject Combination

This is to inform all the candidates that chose Niger Delta university as their choice should apply for the Niger Delta University (NDU) post-UTME screening exercise.

The institution’s management will soon release the timetable for the APTITUDE TEST and the subject combinations for each programme are below:

How can I get admission in NDU?
School grades (first and second secondary years) are assigned a weight of 55% and SAT Math or NDU Aptitude Test is assigned a weight of 45%. Applicants must accumulate a certain CS required by the faculty in order to be admitted to the major of choice. Accordingly, remedial courses are allocated, if need be.

How much is Niger Delta school fees?
The current school fees of the Niger Delta University Yenagoa ranges from ₦100,000 to ₦200,000 for both old and new students. For new students, you will have to check the fees by the department on the official website of the school.

What is the cut off mark for NDU?
