Niger Delta University is in Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State in the southern part of Nigeria. It is a Bayelsa state government-funded university. In 2002, It was established by Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha, then governor of Bayelsa state.

The Niger Delta University popularly known as NDU, was established in 2000. It currently two main campuses, one in the state capital, Yenagoa, which contains the law faculty, and the other in Amassoma. Niger Delta University has come a long way since its establishment and ranks among the 50 best universities in Nigeria.

Niger Delta University courses

The University offers a wide range of programmes from the full-time certificate, diploma and degree programmes cutting across Twelve (12) Faculties. The faculties and their respective departments are Faculty of Arts, Agricultural Technology, Basic Medical Sciences, Engineering, Clinical Sciences, Education, Law, Management Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy,Sciences and Faculty of Social Sciences.

Niger Delta University Admission Requirements

To study at Niger Delta University, you must possess the following requirements:

  • The candidate must be over 16 years of age in the year of admission (Some student swear an affidavit just to increase their ages)
  • Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 credit passes in relevant subjects which must include English Language and mathematics at GCE O’Level, WASCE, SSCE, NECO or approved equivalents at not more than 2 sittings.
  • Candidates with Teachers Grade II (TC II) with passes at credit or merit levels in conjunction with credit passes in relevant subjects at GCE, WASCE, SSCE, NECO or approved equivalents may be considered. No subject may be counted at both TC II and GCE O/Level, WASCE, SSCE, NECO or approved equivalents.
  • The candidate must make at least 150 pass mark in JAMB to qualify for internal screening.

The above is Niger Delta University courses as approved by the NUC. If you are interested in enrolling at NDU then you can begin the process right away.

What is the cut off mark for NDU?

To be eligible to write NDU post UTME screening exercise, candidates must have scored a mark not less than 150 in the recently conducted JAMB UTME. The cut-off mark for all the under-listed degree courses at NDU is 150.

 

Niger Delta University NDU Post UTME Subject Combination

This is to inform all the candidates that chose Niger Delta university as their choice should apply for the Niger Delta University (NDU) post-UTME screening exercise.

Applications began on 17 July 2025. The form costs ₦2,000 and is available online. But don’t wait too long. Deadline is Friday 15th August 2025.

 

How to Apply for NDU Screening

Follow these steps to apply correctly:

  1. Go to the NDU screening portal
  2. Type in your JAMB Registration Number and UTME score
  3. Provide a working phone number and email address
  4. Pay the ₦2,000 screening fee using the online payment platform
  5. Fill in your O’level results and grades carefully
  6. Review your entries. Fix any errors before you submit
  7. After submission, print out a copy of your completed form

For Direct Entry Applicants

If you applied to NDU through Direct Entry:

  • Go to the same screening portal
  • Upload your required documents no later than 15 August 2025

Screening Schedule:
The screening exercise will hold from Monday, 25th to Friday, 29th August 2025. Registered applicants should watch the university site for further updates on their specific dates.

The institution’s management has released the timetable for the APTITUDE TEST and the subject combinations for each programme are below:

a. Arts(All programmes), Law, Education and English, Education Arts and Mass Communication
Subject: English, Literature, Government and CRK

a. Nursing and Medical Laboratory, Science
Subject: English, Biology, physics and chemistry.

b. Fine and Applied Arts, Adult Education and community development, Guidance and Counselling.
Subject: English, literature, Government and CRK.

 

a. Science (All programmes) Science Education, Biochemistry, Education and Biology, Education and Mathematics.
Subject: English mathematics, physics and chemistry

b. Social sciences(All programmes except mass communication), Education and Political Science, Education and Geography, Education and Social studies
Subject: Economics, government, geography and English

c. Management Science (all programmes) Economics, Business Education, Educational Management
Subject: Government, Economics, Mathematics and English

 

 

a. Engineering (All Programmes), Technical Education, Architecture, Building and Quantity surveying
Subjects: English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry

b. Agriculture (All Programmes) Biology, Agricultural Education and Microbiology

How can I get admission in NDU?
School grades (first and second secondary years) are assigned a weight of 55% and SAT Math or NDU Aptitude Test is assigned a weight of 45%. Applicants must accumulate a certain CS required by the faculty in order to be admitted to the major of choice. Accordingly, remedial courses are allocated, if need be.

How much is Niger Delta school fees?
The current school fees of the Niger Delta University Yenagoa ranges from ₦100,000 to ₦200,000 for both old and new students. For new students, you will have to check the fees by the department on the official website of the school.

What is the cut off mark for NDU?
