University of Bristol Think Big Scholarships For September 2025 entry:

Awards are available for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. These scholarships are for applicants with overseas fee status who have applied for an eligible undergraduate or master’s course.

Scholarships available:
Think Big undergraduate scholarships are valued at £6,500 and £13,000 for each year of study.

Think Big postgraduate scholarships are valued at £6,500, £13,000 and £26,000 for each year of study.

Postgraduate students can also apply for the Think Big Career Accelerator. This bespoke employability programme is designed to boost your confidence in finding employment or advancing your career after graduation, and comes with a £3,000 scholarship.

Scholarship Objective:
These scholarships are intended to be used as fee waivers towards the cost of tuition fees.

Multiple scholarships, One application Our Think Big scheme has partnered with faculties, alumni and external partners to offer a wide range of scholarships in addition to the standard Think Big undergraduate and postgraduate awards.

To make the application process easier, you only need to submit one scholarship application. With one application we consider you for every scholarship, providing that you meet the necessary eligibility requirements.

GREAT Scholarships:
Offered by the British Council, these are available for international students from specific countries, covering £10,000 in tuition fees for taught postgraduate courses at various UK universities.

University of Bristol Faculty of Engineering:

The Faculty of Engineering is pleased to announce scholarships of £500 for outstanding overseas undergraduate students. Each department in the Faculty offers first-year scholarships of £500 to overseas fee-paying undergraduates.

The scholarships are as follows:

  • Sir Alfred Pugsley Scholarship in Civil
  • Engineering; Barry Thomas Scholarship in Computer Science; Paul Dirac Scholarship in
  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering;
  • Edmund Boulton Scholarships for Engineering Design and Engineering Mathematics;
  • Mechanical Engineering Scholarship.

How Can I Apply?

Make sure you fill out the correct application form. There’s a form for postgraduate applicants and another for undergraduate applicants.

Application tips

  • Ensure you are completing the correct form for your study level.
  • The form cannot save your progress. Complete the application form in one session. Once you submit your application you cannot make any changes to your application after submission.
  • You’ll get an email confirming receipt of your application. Check your junk or spam folder if you do not receive it.

The 10 Most Important Tips to Get a Scholarship

Are You Eligible For Engineering Scholarships for overseas Students?

Scholarships will be given to all candidates who arrive to study and who have achieved AAA at A Level, or the international equivalent.

To win a scholarship, one of the the A*s must be in Maths, Further Maths, or Physics; General Studies A Level, or A Level languages where that language is your native language, will not be counted for the purposes of the scholarship.

International equivalencies of AAA at A Level are at the discretion of individual admissions tutors in departments.

  • Applicants must have applied or applying to University of bristol
  • Applicants must be fluent in English Language
  • Applicants must have an A in Maths, Further Maths, or Physics.
