Eligibility For Lagos State Scholarships Scheme

Eligibility Criteria includes:

Applicants MUST be a Nigerian by origin.
Applicants MUST be a registered citizen of Lagos State.
Applicants MUST be registered students of a government approved tertiary institution in Nigeria.

Undergraduate

(i) All applicants must have gained full time admission into an accreditted Nigerian tertiary institution.

(ii) All under-graduate applicants:

Where CGPA scale is 7.0 (e.g University of Ibadan) he/she must possess a minimum of 4.9/7.0
Where CGPA scale is 5.0 (e.g University of Lagos) he/she must possess a minimum of 3.5/5.0
Where CGPA scale is 4.0 (e.g polytechnic and colleges of education) he/she must possess a minimum of 2.8/4.0.
Where applicant is a medical student in 200 Level, option i, ii and iii applies.
Where applicants is a medical student in 300 Level and above a minimum of Credit is required in their result.

(iii) All applicants must be in their second year or above.

(iv) All applicants must have completed LASSRA Registration.

(v) All applicants must have a signed letter of identification from their respective Oba.

(vi) All applicants must have?a signed letter of identification from their respective Local government.

(vii) All applicants must purchase a scholarship application form (Payments of 2,000.00 for Local scholarship) through the Revenue Office of the Lagos State Scholarship Board.

Postgraduate

(i) All applicants must have gained full time admission into an accreditted Nigerian tertiary institution for postgraduate studies (Masters or Doctorate).

(ii) All Post-graduate applicants:

Where CGPA scale is 7.0 (e.g University of Ibadan) he/she must have graduated with a minimum of 4.9/7.0 at undergraduate level.
Where CGPA scale is 5.0 (e.g University of Lagos) he/she must have graduated with a minimum of 3.5/5.0 at undergraduate level.
Where CGPA scale is 4.0 (e.g polytechnic and colleges of education) he/she must possess a minimum of 2.8/4.0.

(iii) All applicants must be in their first year or above.

Fill in all required details to start the Application
Click on ‘Start Application’
A pop up will display A GENERATED PIN, write down the pin for future references.
Click on ‘Proceed’
A page will display the SCHOLARSHIP OR BURSARY option, pick what you applying for and Add the pin which was generated earlier on to the available tab.
Click on ‘Continue’
Then you’ll generate a Web GUID (it is a payment code that’ll process your payment).
(Note: Kindly write down the code for reference purpose.)
Click on ‘Proceed to Payment’
Make payment with your preferred option. (Note it’s best to make payment with your card)
Click on ‘Proceed’
After completing the payment process, a successful page will be displayed.
Click on the ‘Print Revenue Receipt’ link below to generate evidence of payment.
Go back to the Lagos State Scholarship board Home page, click on ‘Payment Validator’on the top tab.
Input your payment reference code (Web GUID)
Click on ‘GENERATE APPLICATION ID’
Payment successful Page will be displayed, Stating ‘Your Application ID has been sent your mail and Phone number.

The 10 Most Important Tips to Get a Scholarship

Supporting Documents:

Evidence of indigeneship from:-
(a) An Oba and
(b) Local Government Council
Letter of Current Admission.
Student’s Identity Card.
Birth Certificate.
Academic Certificates obtained.
JAMB result slip.
Lagos State Residents Registration
Agency (LASSRA) identification card of the applicant.
Photocopy of the payment receipt.
Downloaded application form.
Any other documentary evidence.

Before you start this application ensure you have purchased a scholarship application form (payment of 2,000.00 for local scholarship through the Revenue Office of the Lagos State Scholarship Board.

Then secure your Voucher pin from the Scholarship Board office. Therefore, have clear scanned copies of the following documents (Undergraduate & Postgraduate).

Passport Photograph with white background not more than 3 months old (450px by 450px not more than 200kb) (i) Treasury receipt of N2,000 for the scholarships form (ii) Admission Letter (iii) School Identity Card (iv) SSCE Certificate (v) Letter of identification from Oba (vi) Letter of identification from Local government (vii) LASSRA registration Card (viii) Transcript or Statement of result duly signed and stamped from school stating previous session CGPA Result clearly (ix) Evidence of Consolidated Payment Comfirmation Slip.
Ensure that information are filled acurately to avoid mix up after application.
Ensure the documents are named according to what they represent to avoid mix up document during upload.
