Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) programme for the UNN 2026/2027 JUPEB academic session.

JOINT UNIVERSITIES PRELIMINARY EXAMINATIONS BOARD (JUPEB)

UNN 2026/2027 JUPEB ADMISSION

Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) programme for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The programme leads to the award of JUPEB certificate, which enables candidates to gain Direct Entry Admissions into various degree programmes in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and other JUPEB – affiliated Universities in Nigeria and abroad.

ELIGIBILITY:

Eligible candidates must possess a minimum of 5 Credits at maximum of two sittings which include Mathematics and English Language and other relevant subjects to the candidates’ desired course of study in the University.

DURATION:

The duration of the programme is a minimum of one academic session of two semesters.

  • Gov/Lit-in-English/CRS (GLCRS),

SOCIAL SCIENCES:

  • Government /Literature/CRS (GLCRS)
  • Government /Economics/CRS/IRS (GECRS)
  • Economics/Economics/Literature (GEL)
  • Government /Economics/Mathematics (GEM)
  • Biology/Economics/Government (BEG)
  • Government /Economics/Geography (GEG)
  • Economics/Geography/Mathematics (EGM)

MANAGEMENT SCIENCES:

  • Accounts/Business Studies/Economics (ABE)
  • Government /Economics/Mathematics (GEM)
  • Business Studies/Economics/Mathematics (BEM)

SCIENCES:

  • Physics/Chemistry /Biology (PCB)
  • Biology/Chemistry/Economics (BCE)
  • Physics/Biology/Mathematics (PBM)
  • Physics/Biology/Mathematics (PBM)
  • Chemistry/Physics /Geography (CPG)
  • Chemistry/Physics/Mathematics (CPM)
  • Physics/Economics/Mathematics (PEM)
  • Physics/Geography/Mathematics (PGM)

The above subject combinations meet the requirements (as applicable) for admission into various courses in the Sciences, Social Sciences, Management Sciences and Arts in University of Nigeria, Nsukka and all JUPEB – affiliated Universities in Nigeriaand abroad.

UNN 2025/2026 JUPEB APPLICATION PROCEDURES:

The applicant should pay the application fee of N20,000.00 through remita payment platform at any bank.

He/she should generate a payment invoice which contains remita number.

The invoice printout will enable him/her to make payment at the bank. (Please note that Bank charges apply)

 

The Summary of the procedures for the application is as follows:

  • Visit unn.edu.ng
  • Click on Generate Payment Invoice under UNN JUPEB.
  • Enter your telephone number and click on submit.
  • Enter your Surname, First name, Middle name and click on submit.
  • Print out the invoice and pay at the bank
  • After making payments at the bank visit the portal (unnportal.unn.edu.ng)
  • Click on fill Joint Universities Preliminary Admissions Board programme
  • Enter the remita number and click on submit.
  • Fill the form and attach your passport (colour passport photograph with white background).
  • The passport photograph must be recent (not earlier than 3 months before the time of the application) and the size should not be more than 100KB.
  • Complete the form and click on submit
  • Print out the acknowledgment slip.

Note that JUPEB UNN has not authorized any person(s) or agent(s) to sell application forms on its behalf.

UNN 2025/2026 JUPEB Application and all payment is strictly online through the UNN Portal at www.unnportal.unn.edu.ng using Remita and not through individual bank account.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

  1. All prospective UNN 2025/2026 JUPEB candidates are advised to regularly visit unn.edu.ng as well as their email for updates and other relevant information.
  2. All candidates are required to register for 2025 JAMB Direct Entry at the appropriate time.
  3. The forms must be filled and submitted online either immediately or within two weeks of accessing the website. No downloaded or printed copies of forms will be accepted.
  4. Candidates are advised to follow the Application Instructions very carefully and ensure they select the Correct SUBJECT COMBINATIONS. Failure to do so may adversely affect the candidate.
  5. Further information will be communicated to the candidates through their email.

HOW DOES JUPEB WORK?

Prospective Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board candidates must choose any THREE (3) A/L Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board Subject Combination plus General studies (English Language) identified with their preferred course of study in the university, which can be Science, Art, or Social Science.

Candidates would then be lectured for the allotted time at their respective Study Centre before sitting for the final examination. After completing the program, successful candidates use their Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board certificate to gain admission to any Nigerian tertiary institution at the 200 level via JAMB.

Duration of the JUPEB Program
JUPEB A’level programs are limited to one academic session (9-10 months) divided into two (2) semesters.

JUPEB Legibility
JUPEB certificates are now recognized and accepted in over 70% of Nigeria’s federal, state, and private universities. Thus, prospective candidates can confirm JUPEB legibility by checking (item 2.2) of the JAMB BROCHURE. Check out the official list of universities that accept JUPEB certificates here!

What are the JUPEB School Fees?

JUPEB School Fees: JUPEB program school fees vary from center to center and from university to university, as do private JUPEB centers. With this breakdown, we will give you the average JUPEB school fees. Once you have completed and submitted the JUPEB Form, you will be able to view the original fees for your desired JUPEB center.

  • Application/JUPEB Form = N25,000
  • The hostel fee is N40,000 (optional).
  • The total of the school fees and the examination fee is N170,000.
  • The textbooks and other laboratory materials cost N15,000 in total.
  • The JUPEB school fees plus the application fee total N255,000.

JUPEB Fees Based on JUPEB Study State

JUPEB school fees vary depending on the study state, but be assured that they range between N255,000 and N290,000.

The following are JUPEB School Fees based on available study centers:

  • Ilorin JUPEB Centre: N240,000; includes housing and textbooks.
  • Lagos JUPEB Centre: N280,000 (includes textbooks but not lodging).
  • JUPEB Centre in Portharcout: N270,000 (includes textbooks but excludes housing).
  • Ibadan JUPEB Centre: N240,000 (includes housing and textbooks).
  • Delta JUPEB Centre: N250,000; Textbooks Included Accommodation is included.
  • JUPEB Centre in Abuja: N270,000 (excluding accommodation and textbooks).
  • Anambra JUPEB Centre: N290,000 (includes housing and textbooks).
  • Ogun JUPEB Centre: N240,000 (includes housing and textbooks).

 

 

  1. Anambra JUPEB Centre: N290,000 (includes housing and textbooks).
  2. Imo JUPEB Centre: N290,000 (includes housing and textbooks).
  3. Ondo JUPEB Centre: N240,000 (includes housing and textbooks). 
  4. Enugu JUPEB Centre: N240,000 (includes housing and textbooks). 
Instalment Payment of JUPEB Fees 
The JUPEB school payment can be made a maximum of three times; the minimum amount a student can start with is N140,000 plus the hostel fee, and the remaining amount (N100, 000) can be paid twice; as interested JUPEB candidates are expected to have paid for the form, which is N25,000 (non-refundable) before  the resumption to the specified account, and the second and third payments have three months interval for the full payment. 
If the candidate has not paid the entire school fee, he or she will be unable to write the first-semester examination. 
Interested candidates who wish to apply for JUPEB must have discussed their plans with their parentsParents/guardians/custodians must be consulted before the application fee is paid.
