Phase II: HEC Postgraduate Scholarships For Students of Balochistan and FATA

HEC Postgraduate Scholarships for Students of Balochistan and FATA is available for students from Balochistan and FATA. The scholarship makes room for Mphil, Ph.D. level program(s) in the field of all the subjects that are taught at Pakistan Universities.

This announced HEC is the Phase-II of the Scholarships project titled “Provision of Higher Education Opportunities for the students of Balochistan and FATA” for Postgraduate and Undergraduate studies in all disciplines..

Applications are allowed from outstanding students from Balochistan and erstwhile FATA who have plans to enroll for postgraduate studies (MS/M.Phil Program) from local Universities/Degree Awarding Institutions (DAIs) recognized by HEC.

The Scholarship is available in a variety of courses and fields. It is the best opportunity for Pakistani nationals to study at one of the world’s top 25 institutes. The best part is that students will be able to study in the following countries with the help of this scholarship: the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Singapore, China, Switzerland, Japan, and Hong Kong.

The scholarship period for the Master’s degree program is two years, and the scholarship period for the Ph.D. degree program is four years. The Scholarships have been offered for the academic year 2022-2023 in all areas of studies or disciplines under the project entitled “Provision of Higher Education Opportunities for the Students of Balochistan and FATA (Phase-II)”.

HEC Postgraduate Scholarship Details

• Tuition fee and various charges (as well as hostel fee) – Maximum Rs, 60,000 per semester.
• Living Allowance of Rs, 9,000 each month with a yearly increment of Rs, 500 for 2nd year.
• Book Allowance of Rs, 6,000 each year.
• Traveling Allowance of Rs, 5,000 each year.
• First Settlement Allowance of Rs, 10,000 once.

Eligibility Criteria For Postgraduate Scholarship

1. All applicants must show a local/Domicile certificate from Balochistan Province/erstwhile Fata.
2. Applicants must have finished their 16 years of education with a minimum of 60% marks.
3. Candidate’s Age as on the closing date of the scholarship should be 35 years.
4. Applicants must have gained the requisite academic qualification on or before the closing date.
5. The applicants who are already participants of any other HEC or Government scholarship will NOT be eligible to apply.
6. Candidates who are applying will have to meet the eligibility criteria of HEC and University for admission in MS/Mphil Programmes.

CGPA 3.0 out of 4

Age Requirement

The applicant’s age should not exceed 35 years.
For faculty members, there is a five-year age relaxation.

Test/Qualification – Weightage

Matric Marks – 20%

FSc Marks – 30%

HEC Test Marks – 50%
