Institute of Management & Technology popularly known as IMT, is a State-Government owned tertiary institution located at Enugu, Enugu State, Nigeria. The famous institution was formally known as College of Technology, Enugu, established in 1973 and runs ND, HND and PG courses on full time and part-time basis.

The Polytechnic is accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to issue certificates for courses/programs at the National Diploma, Higher National Diploma, Professional Diploma and Postgraduate levels respectively.

Entry Requirements for ND candidates

To study at Institute of Management & Technology the following basic requirements must be fully met;

• Prospective candidates must score UTME/JAMB cut-off mark of at least 150 in the examination are eligible to take part in the admission for the programmes listed above.
• Candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) O/L Credit Passes in WASC, SSCE, NECO and GCE at not more than two sittings.
• He/She must have compulsory credit passes in English Language and Mathematics in SSCE to be qualified for admission.

Entry Requirements for HND Candidates

For a candidate to be considered for admission in the institution, and to run any Institute of Management & Technology Courses, at HND level, the following general requirements must be met;

In addition to National Diploma requirements,

• A prospective candidate for Higher National Diploma must possess at least a lower credit (CGPA) of 2.50 in National Diploma in relevant ND Programme
• In exceptional cases, candidates with pass grade and a minimum of two years post qualification experience in the specified field may be considered for admission.
• A minimum of twelve (12) months of supervised industrial experience,
• Must possess 5 credit passes in relevant O-Level subjects in not more than two sittings.
• A transcript is required for admission into all HND programs in the institution especially prospective candidates from other institutions.

How do I check if I have gotten admission in IMT?

The Institute of Management and Technology, IMT prospective students can only check their admission status from the JAMB Portal.

Check on JAMB Portal:

To check your admission status on JAMB CAPS Portal and JAMB Admission Checking Portal, please follow the procedure below:

• Go https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/.
• Login to your Jamb profile with your username and password.
• Scroll down then locate and click the ‘Check Admission Status‘ tab.
• Then click on Admission Status,
• You should then click on check admission status
• or Click on Access my CAPS.
• Select the three-dotted lines at the top right corner of your browser ( i.e. ⋮) and then tick ‘Desktop site’. (you can click on the image for better view)
• Then click on admission status You will either see admission in progress check back later, or NOT ADMITTED, or CONGRATULATIONS.
• Case 1: If you see CONGRATULATIONS…, accept/Reject your admission and wait for further instruction.
• Case 2: If you see admission in progress, then be patient, the status will change in few days/weeks. Just check back after some time.
• Case 3: Not Admitted, if in such case, please don’t give up yet! You might still gain admission. Just be hopeful!

Check on IMT Portal:

Soon, the list will be made available on the IMT, Enugu Admission portal. When that happens, the procedure below will likely be used to check admission status.

• Visit IMT Admission Portal
• Select your preferred payment option.

For Interswitch:

• Enter application number and generate invoice
• Proceed to any bank and make payment.
• Return to the portal, enter your application number and click on the check
• Print your admission status

For Ready cash:

• Enter your application number, pin, and serial number
• Check and print your admission status

For Zenith Bank Pin:

• Enter your application number, pin, and serial number
• Check and print your admission status

NB: You can use the same PIN you used to check your result to access your admission status.

Successfully admitted candidates are required to accept this offer by prompt payment of the Acceptance, fee of Twenty-Five thousand (N25,000.00) within two weeks of the offer after which the admission may lapse.

Application involves an online form and N2000 fee, with admissions reliant on JAMB scores and O’Level uploads.

What is the cut off mark for IMT polytechnic?
To be eligible to participate in IMT Post UTME screening exercise for ND full-time programmes, you must have scored 120 and above in the last Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Does IMT study Law?
The Legal Studies Department is a service department. Its primary function is to teach borrowed law courses to all departments (from ND to HND final students) that must take the relevant departmental staff law courses before graduation.
